The Truth About Wind

Written by Hazel Hutchins and Gail Herbert,
Illustrated by Dušan Petričić

Jesse finds a toy horse someone left behind near his backyard. He imagines it is the fastest horse in the world so he names him Wind. With Wind by his side Jesse’s imagination runs wild. Wind races across the prairie (the kitchen table) and over deep canyons (the bathtub). There’s just one problem: Wind doesn’t actually belong to Jesse and Jesse knows his owner is looking for him. Read how Jesse deals with his conflicting emotions as he spins a web of make believe he knows is not true. Will Jesse do the right thing?
